Join us for the ‘Forests of Lamington National Park’ – held on Sunday, March 7th from 8:30am to 4:00pm. Tickets are complimentary but spaces will fill quickly – don’t miss out!
Held just before our Autumn Birdweek, Forests of Lamington is a special walk and talk with leading rainforest ecologists and evolutionists, Dr Bill McDonald and Ray Carpenter – as they explore the mysteries of these ancient forests located on Brisbane and the Gold Coast’s doorstep.
Bill is a leading authority on the flora of central and Southern Queensland. One of his first tasks was to survey and map the plant communities of the Gold Coast Hinterland, which led to a lifelong interest in rainforest floristics and ecology.
Ray has a PhD in Plant Science (Palaeobotany) from the University of Tasmania, and has published over 60 papers in scientific journals on all aspects of ecosystem evolution in the Southern Hemisphere.
