Meet O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards Membership Manager, Samantha Dusting.
Given her twenty-year affiliation with the family vineyard, there is no better connoisseur to share their five favourite O’Reilly’s wine and food pairing varietals, as prepared by in-house Chef Paula.
1. Lona Reserve Sparkling Blush
O’Reilly’s traditional Semillon is used as a base and dosed with a petit verdot creating a rose-coloured wine, bouquet of raspberries and tiny bubbles. The palate displays subtle strawberries and raspberries with a crisp finish.
Food pairing: Cajun prawns resting on charred sweet corn salsa and petite salad.
2. Molly Reserve Marsanne
This increasingly popular variety presents white peach, melon and honey suckle aromas with a dry full flavoured palate.
3. Shane Reserve Shiraz
Cinnamon and nutmeg aromas with dark chocolate and raspberry nuances. Rich red berry with notes of liquorice, coconut and vanilla on the palate.
Food pairing: Slow braised lamb shoulder with Shane Shiraz pan sauce.
4. Silky Oak Liqueur Muscat
This sweet white dessert wine is best enjoyed by the fire with fruity, honey and jasmine notes.
Food pairing: Lemon Myrtle Cheesecake.
5. Big Pete’s Port
Truly a Winter favourite this ruby red port has rich berry and hints of chocolate flavour.
